Referrers and Schools

The Youth Start Mentoring Project offers one-to-one mentoring and key working for young people with complex lives. 'Key working' refers to a period of intensive support that will usually involve more than one team member and will be responsive to the demands of the young person. This could include work in accessing additional support from statutory or voluntary agencies or facilitating communication between parents and mentees and between families and schools.

If it wasn’t for her mentor, she would not have sat her exams. I enjoyed working with you and I think that your involvement has made a great difference to a pupil that really needed it. Thank you so much for all your work with (the mentee). It has been invaluable and has made a great difference to his self-esteem. Quite simply transformational, it changes lives for the better and makes the difference that really counts.
